Thank you for attending the 54th ABSO Meeting on Hamilton Island!

Thank you for joining us at the 54th Meeting of the Australasian Begg Society of Orthodontists, held on Hamilton Island, Queensland, from 4–7 September 2025. The sun was (mostly) shining, and the ocean views from the lecture room were truly hard to beat.

ABSO meetings welcome all clinical philosophies, techniques, and persuasions, with invitations open to registered orthodontists and post-graduate students from around the globe.

This year, our keynote speakers Dr Tung Nguyen (USA) and Dr Roberto Carrillo (Mexico) delivered outstanding lectures, and we were delighted to also host Dr Hans Booij (Netherlands). Alongside them, a vibrant scientific program showcased a wide range of presentations from both academia and clinical practice.

Of course, learning goes hand-in-hand with connection. The social events on the island provided the perfect backdrop for networking, catching up with colleagues, and enjoying some tropical mingling.

We are especially proud to continue supporting post-graduate researchers and future specialists. Their contributions enrich our profession, and with over 30 students attending this year, the energy and enthusiasm they brought was inspiring.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our sponsors and supporters, whose commitment makes meetings like this possible:

Gold Sponsors - American Orthodontics and Ormco/Spark

Silver Sponsor - DentalMonitoring

Coffee Cart Sponsor - American Orthodontics

Exhibitors - AB Orthodontics, Angel Aligner, APAC Digital Dentistry and Laboratory, Clear Correct - A Straumann Group, Invisalign, Dental Axess, LightForce, Macono Orthodontic & Dental Laboratories and TP Orthodontics.

We hope you enjoyed Hamilton Island as both a learning environment and a warm escape from the southern winter.

On behalf of the ABSO Committee, thank you again for being part of a friendly, informative, and fun meeting. We look forward to welcoming you to our next meeting in 2027 (details to be announced soon).

With Dr Steve Langford, Prof Craig Dreyer and A/Prof Maurice Meade.

Dr Steve Langford, Prof Craig Dreyer, and A/Prof Maurice Meade sit down to discuss recent changes to Orthodontic study at Adelaide University, and look at what lies ahead for the course in the coming five years.
