And that’s a wrap …

Thank you for your attendance at the recent 52nd Meeting of the Australasian Begg Society of Orthodontists held in Darwin, Northern Territory from 24 to 27 July 2019.  Darwin provided the perfect background to deliver a friendly, informative and fun meeting that the Begg Society is renowned for.

Our meeting commenced with a Welcome Reception at the spectacular Paul Johnstone Gallery on the evening of Wednesday 24th July.

We particularly thank our keynote speakers Carlos Flores-Mir, Hans Booij and Bjorn Ludwig. These speakers lead a vibrant scientific program with a broad range of presenters from local and national academia and clinical practice. Thank you to all of our incredibly knowledgeable and professional speakers throughout the meeting ensuring it to be a very warmly received program. As usual social interaction is an important component of learning and our social program certainly catered for all.  The highlight was our Gala Dinner that was held at Pee Wee’s on the Point overlooking the ocean in the outside warmth of the Darwin night.

ABSO continued to support our post graduate researchers and future specialist clinicians by including their participation within our program and engaging in the camaraderie of the orthodontic profession.

Thank you to our very supportive meeting sponsors and industry partners for the participation.  We really appreciate their interactions and the continued partnership of the Begg Meetings. This year for the first time we initiated a “speed trade dating” on the first day of the program which was hailed a success for both the sponsors and the delegates.

The ABSO Committee thank you again for attending and participating in our Darwin meeting; a truly warm escape from the southern winter temperatures.
